Alexandra B. Schmit is a ten year attorney who has practiced in the areas of litigation, corporate law and business law. Ms. Schmit has experience representing, and assisting in representing, clients in both simple and complex matters in a broad range of areas including business transactions, contracts, compliance of corporate policies and procedures with federal and state law, settlement negotiation, subrogation and coordination of benefits. • Assisted in representing small and large businesses in litigation, employment matters and transactional matters including contracts, commercial leases, the purchase and sale of companies and the purchase and sale of ownership interests
• Assisted in representing medical practices and physicians in transactional and employment matters
• Represented and assisted in representing railway and airline companies as in-house corporate counsel in litigation and transactional, employment and regulatory matters
• Represented and assisted in representing a national ERISA health and welfare plan in the areas of subrogation, coordination of benefits, settlement negotiation and litigation to successfully recover millions of dollars in client assets over several years
• Litigated six civil jury trials in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Chicago, Illinois
